The Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak agreed to the conceptual proposal for the Mardan Theme Park spreading over an area of 400 Kanals of land and renaming it as Zaitoon Park directing the quarter concerned to replicate the Bus Rapid Transit pattern of pedasternization and a dedicated cycle track in the park. From now onward this should be a standing order for all the parks being constructed throughout the province, he added. He was presiding over a meeting on the beautification plan of Mardan Division at Chief Minister Secretariat, Peshawar. Provincial Minister Education Muhammad Atif, Secretary Local Government Jamaluddin, Principal Secretary to CM Shahab Ali Shah and others attended. The meeting focused on the theme park Mardan, landscaping of different localities as a part of the overall beautification plan, the revenue generation for the sustainability of these parks, the creation of different facilities, the Aqua park, the establishment of Library and Cultural centre and the management of these parks, the waste management and the transfer of sanitation employees etc and made a number of decisions. Chief Minister directed that the theme park Mardan should have an improved and model padastranization with dedicated lane for cycle track with focus on landscaping in parks and different localities of Mardan. He directed to plan an appropriate and beautiful sketch to erect a big hall in which diverse flower plants would be put at display. He directed to redesign the master plan for the divisional headquarter for a beautiful outlook of divisional headquarter. The greenery should be raised in all areas and the evergreen plants should be arranged for all the parks. He also directed to plan commercial swings and other commercial activities of international standard. The theme park would also have a food area. However, he asked for separate financial model and administratively managed mechanism. Regarding the Aqua Park Mardan, the Chief Minister directed to coordinate with the Culture, Sports and Tourism Department for the establishment of the Cultural Centre, Library and tourism related activities. The management of these parks should be of standard and there should be a green and horticulture management mechanism for the management of these parks. These activities, he strictly directed should not be carried out on political grounds therefore there would be a need of developing commercial activities for the sustainability of these parks. He also agreed to construct three monuments. He also directed to resolve the WSSP issues on priority basis. He appreciated the work for the waste management in Mardan and agreed to transfer the sanitation employees to the company. Pervez Khattak directed for bringing improvement and dynamism in the working of WSSP Peshawar and gave it different targets for waste management and cleanliness in the entire city of Peshawar. He also directed for the transfer of fire-brigade to Rescue 1122 as early as possible. ======
