Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak has directed for the installation of modern pumping, machinery and other equipments for revamping of Och canal and remodeling of warsak canal system in Peshawar and Nowshera districts and upgradation of pump house and related electro mechanical works that would resolve the longstanding issue of the people of Peshawar and Nowshera related to both irrigation and public health sectors. He was presiding over a meeting of the remodeling of Warsak canal system at Chief Minister House Peshawar. Provincial Minister for Information and Public Health Engineering, Shah Farman, Secretary Irrigation and others attended the meeting. The meeting was briefed about the progress on the Och canal, remodeling of Warsak canal system, the upgradation of pumping machinery and other related electro mechanical works. The Chief Minister in his remarks said that the previous governments did not own the problems of the farmers and common people created by the Och canal. Resultantly, the equipments and whole machinery got rusty. He said his government was focused on the remodeling of Och canal in the best public interest and in the interest of the farmers. He directed for the efficient use of resources, the government was providing in this regard. He also directed to ensure upgraded lining of the Och canal, provision of modern equipments and machinery of international standard adding that his government would never compromise on the quality work on schemes of public welfare. Provincial Minister for Public Health Engineering, said that Och canal was a longstanding issue of the people and farmers of the area. Thousands of acres of land was barren and uncultivable that could be irrigated after the upgradation and improved lining and remodeling of Warsak canal. He asked for expeditious steps to bring the project immediately to the implementation phase. The sooner the project is completed, the better it will be for the people and farmers of the area. ===
