Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak has said that peace in Afghanistan is essentially required for durable peace in the entire region. The international forces have to set aside their political motives in order to find out a permanent solution to the Afghan conflict. The soil of Afghanistan was used by the international forces for their own gains and after that Afghanistan was left in the lurch. The constant waves of terrorism caused both human lives and property. The international forces should stop funding the extremists and terrorists organizations. The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was on the fulfillment of its part of the responsibility under the national action plan that was recognized at national level. The provincial government set up CTD, Police Training School and depoliticized the police force so that our weaknesses could not be exploited by the enemies. This nation needed a sincere and sagacious leadership and we needed a depoliticized delivery system as both are concomitant to lead the country out of the myriad of problems. These remarks, he made while talking to a 180 members students and faculty members of different universities of Balochistan at Chief Minister House Peshawar. Advisor to Chief Minister on Higher Education Mushtaq Ghani, MPA Shaukat Yousafzai and other high officials attended. The Chief Minister appreciated the inter-provincial-study-tours adding that it would give a unique opportunity to learn from each other experiences. His government pinned hopes in the youth for the better future of the country adding that substandard education system was the root cause of all the ills in our society. He said our political elite kept on talking about the welfare and prosperity of the people but they have a cognitive dissonance with mismatch between their words and actions. The provincial government on the other hand was fully focused on the importance of education and therefore announced educational emergency right from the primary to the higher education and doubled the education budget. Rs. 35 billion were spent on the improvement of primary education and billions were spent on the improvement of higher education, he added. He called upon the educated youth of Balochistan to realize their rulers the importance of education in their province which was the key to progress. Pervez Khattak said we are far behind in education and therefore we have to cover a long distance in education and research. The people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Baluchistan suffered heavily but we should not be afraid of as we have bright future following the CPEC and CPEC related developmental activities, he added. He said that the western route was realized by the combined efforts of Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. It is a most reasonable, successful and shortest route, he added. The Chief Minister on a question related to the incident of terrorism on Army Public School said that it was a horrific incident wherein the innocent were mercilessly killed but at the same time it appeared to be a defining movement in the history of Pakistan that hastened the Pak Army to launch operations against the militants. The masses fully supported their armed forces while on the other hand the provincial government took its responsibility for the establishment of peace and improvement of law and order situation in the province, he added. Pervez Khattak said that because of the unmanned border with Afghanistan, we suffered heavily. We were the soft target of the enemies therefore his government advocated the border management that made a big difference with improved security situation in the province. On another question for the inappropriate representation in the national assembly and the transfer of less resources to the province, the Chief Minister said that it was a serious issue and we are struggling for it to get our due share under the constitution adding that he would never compromise on the provincial rights and succeeded in getting maximum rights of the province. On another question, the Chief Minister said that he was fully aware of the opportunity for development offered by the CPEC and therefore he had 18 MoUs with the different universities of China. The other day, his government saw off 200 educated youth to learn Chinese language and another 500 would be dispatched shortly. He said a network of technical training centre was being spread throughout the province to produce skilled manpower to cope with the future challenges. He agreed to the proposal for the inter-provincial coordination of youth of both Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. We should not be separated by distance as we are one nation and would stand united. =====
