The Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak has directed for release of grant of Rs.50 million for water supply and sanitation company Abbottabad (WSSA)

The Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak has directed for release of grant of Rs.50 million for water supply and sanitation company Abbottabad (WSSA) and preparation of comprehensive Rs.500 million PC-1 covering all the requirements of WSSA on the enology of WSSP to ensure an effective mechanism for proper sanitation in major cities of the province. He also directed for giving a role to the private sector in the company through outsourcing. He was presiding over a meeting of the Board of Directors of WSSA at Chief Minister Secretariat Peshawar. Senior Minister for Local Government Inyatullah, Advisor to CM for Higher Education Mushtaq Ghani, Provincial Minister for food Qalander Lohdhi, MNA Dr. Azhar Jadoon, provincial secretaries of local government, Public Health Engineering, Chairman WSSA and other relevant officials attended . The Board also approved minutes of the previous meeting and took important decisions to improve the performance of the company. Chief Minister said that board should be fully empowered to take bold decisions for improving the performance of the company through outsourcing. He also directed to curtail non developmental expenditure and avoid purchase of unnecessary equipments. Chief Minister directed to revisit the whole affairs of the company and a realistic PC-1 should be prepared keeping in view the option of out sourcing. Chief Minister said that performance should be visible and result oriented. Chief Minister said that WSS companies should be headed by the concerned minister at provincial level by giving representation to the local elected representatives in order to ensure better service delivery at grass root level. Chief Minister on this occasion also approved operationalization of tube wells on solar energy. <><><><><><><><>
