Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak has asked the high ranking officials of monitoring and evaluation department to give him a complete list of the weaknesses and violation of set criteria in the ongoing developmental and welfare schemes. He also directed for the actual and on ground position of provision of furniture in different schools of the province.
He was presiding over a meeting of the Monitoring and Evaluation Department and the progress report of the department at Chief Minister Secretariat Peshawar. MPA Mian Khaleeq ur Rehman, Secretary P&D and other relevant officials attended the meeting. DG Monitoring and Evaluation informed the meeting about the working of the department and submitted the annual report of the department for the year 2015-16. He briefed the participants about the mandate of monitoring and evaluation department, the mechanism of the reporting officials, the need and importance of the department, the developmental project being evaluated, the project management information system and the future responsibilities of the department.
The Chief Minister expressed satisfaction over the working of monitoring and evaluation department. He said that the basic aim of the department was to ensuring implementation on different developmental and public welfare projects as per vision of the government. He said monitoring of projects was necessary for the fruitful utilization of resources. His government wanted transparent utilization of resources on different projects, efficient services and public welfare activities and warned against anything wrong adding his government would never allow misdoing in this regard.
Pervez Khattak said that poor and hapless people were the focus of the reforms and developmental agenda of his government. He directed for transparent and just utilization of resources for the public welfare in order to mitigate the people’s grievances.
The Chief Minister directed to send him a complete list of weaknesses in different public sector projects and initiatives. He also approved the performance management of the monitoring and evaluation department and its future assignments.
