Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak has assured compensation to the affectees of Soki Kanari Dam Naran at Tehsil Balakot of District Mansehra.

Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak has assured compensation to the affectees of Soki Kanari Dam Naran at Tehsil Balakot of District Mansehra. His government has already directed to the concerned quarters both at provincial and federal level for the realistic evaluation of land being used in the projects under CPEC so that proper compensation could be given to the affectees. He was talking to the Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf who called on him at Chief Minister Secretariat Peshawar. Provincial Minister for Higher Education Mushtaq Ghani, MPAs from Mansehra were also present at the occasion. The Federal Minister informed the Chief Minister about different issues emanated from different projects of CPEC. The Federal Minister informed the Chief Minister that he has come on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Water & Power to settle down the land compensation issue of the local landlords whose land was being used in the Soki Kanari Dam, a project of the CPEC. He also discussed the developmental activities of district Mansehra. The Chief Minister regarding the land compensation issue of Soki Kanari, assured the Federal Minister that his government has already directed for a standard procedure for the compensation of land of the affectees under all CPEC related activities. He reminded to have directed the District administration for the realistic evaluation table preparing estimates of the land being used in different projects and the infrastructure damages under the CPEC route. The property would be compensated and the damaged infrastructure would be reconstructed, he assured. His government, Pervez Khattak assured, would ensure that justice is given to everyone and realistic compensation would be given to all affectees whose property could be damaged and used for any CPEC related activities. Once the evaluation is completed, the provision of compensation would be made easier and the people would be given their share and the price of their property under the law, he added. He said he has already directed for the simplified procedure and the prevalent rates for any property being affected under the CPEC. Regarding the developmental activities including the road communication and water supply schemes in district Mansehra, the Chief Minister said that his government has allocated reasonable resources under the developmental strategy for all districts of the province adding that Mansehra would get its share as per distribution formula laid down for the developmental of all districts of the province. He said there were two types of allocations under which the local government system had its share for all districts. The provincial government during the past four years has distributed hundred billion rupees spent and being spent in different sectors under the local government system in all the districts of the province and the second type is the developmental strategy of the province government for the whole of the province under which Mansehra district would get its share in the developmental strategy. He assured his government would look into different road communication projects and water supply schemes as per demand of the federal minister. He assured to resolve the issues raised by the federal minister for the development and approval of different projects including the water supply schemes and roads construction and reconstruction in Mansehra. ======
