Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak has reaffirmed his government commitment of adherence to merit and ensuring transparency in all public dealings adding that his government would ensure the upholding of merit and provision of justice under the law of the land. No expediency would ever hinder the process of transparency adding that his government made recruitments through NTS and no recruitment without NTS would be acceptable. “It is not fair that certain employees want regularization and promotion without merit and NTS” that was simply not acceptable. His government would ensure that everything is done transparently on merit and under the law, he added. He was presiding over a meeting at his office regarding recruitment of clerks which was attended by Chief Secretary Abid Saeed, administrative secretaries of Education, administration and law. The Chief Minister said his government wanted to invest in human resource development instead of constructing bridges and roads. Bridges and Roads are need driven but human resource development is the basic requirement for real development. His government had record legislations for rectifying the weaknesses in education and health sectors. The ultimate objective was to strengthen institutions and rectify the system making it more transparent for efficient delivery. Pervez Khattak that it was unfortunate the people were recruited in irregular way. Corruption and irregularities were conspicuous in the transfers and recruitments in the past but his government would not allow such practice adding that any wrong step had a trickledown effect and therefore the deserving and people have to bear the cost of these wrongs. The blind approach for recruitment saturated the institutions and that was also a problem for the government and the people because the inefficient cannot deliver and the allied problem is that the inefficient indulge in irregular, unlawful and corrupt practices. The better way is to show the corrupt and inefficient the door. He said that it was also strange that when recruited people are given the chance to sit in examinations to prove their abilities but they normally do not but try to skip the opportunities adding his government would never allow this practice. He directed the government offices should reflect the upholding of merit and should not compromise on merit. He directed to strictly watch the merit based recruitment, the regularization and the up-gradation and warned that the merit and law should not be a causality under his rule. <><><><><><>
