Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak has said that the local government system introduced by his government was a unique one that helped considerably in bringing transparency in the process of governance, eliminating of corruption and bringing down the graph of crimes in the province. He called upon the Nazimeen to take responsibility of everything in their respective districts adding that the devolution of power made things easier at local level, it accelerated the pace of development brought along total transparency and set a glaring example of good governance in the province, he added. He was talking to a delegation of Kohat led by MNA Sheharyar Afridi at Chief Minister Secretariat Peshawar today. District Nazim elect, Naseem Afridi, PTI District President Aftab Alam Advocate, District and Tehsil Councillors included in the delegation. The Chief Minister held out assurance to the delegation that their problems related to the development and progress of the district Kohat would be resolved as expeditiously as possible. He said that corruption was rampant in the past. Now nobody could dare to be indulged in corruption or corrupt practices. Public sectors institutions have been purged from all sorts of corruption, corrupt practices and irregularities. Public sector institutions were now bound to the public service, upholding of merit, transparency and justice and adhering to the law of the land. Under his government everybody is accountable, he added. Pervez Khattak said his government enacted dozens of legislations to regulate the working of institutions and make them subservient to the law of the land adding that his government would continue encouraging honest officers and officials and would not spare the officers and officials having heavy baggage. There was a clear concept of reward and punishment in this respect, he added. The Chief Minister reminded the delegates that the good performance of his government led to enhance the graph of PTI and assured welcoming the new entrants to the fold of PTI. He was optimistic of staging a comeback to the government on the basis of his government’s performance. He said the government has allocated Rs. One billion for Zameer Gul Dam in Kohat that will irrigate 2900 Kanal of land of three union councils including Khushal Garh, Sheikh Ziarat ullah and Chor Lakki. The Chief Minister accepted an invitation for visiting Kohat and assured projects such as women and children parks, Bannu road flyover, upgradation of Gumbat Tehsil and ownership right to the people of Jerma and other related problems. He also assured for the accelerated work on six new blocks in hospital of KDA. ==========
