Reconstruction and development process initiated by his government would require enhanced capacity of the local contractors and the local construction companies

Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak said here today that the reconstruction and development process initiated by his government would require enhanced capacity of the local contractors and the local construction companies. We need to have the local machinery and equipment required for the developmental schemes to be completed in time. At the moment, the local contractors and companies neither have the skilled manpower nor the requisite machinery and equipment. Resultantly, the developmental and welfare work suffer. The delay carries a trickle down affect and the people suffer in the process. His government, he said, had no other option but to engage big construction concerns for the timely and quality completion of mega projects. Chief Minister was presiding over a meeting on the projects and the engagements of the reputable construction companies like NLC etc for these projects at Chief Minister House Peshawar. Provincial Ministers Inayatullah, Muhammad Atif Khan, ACS Azam Khan, Advocate General Yousafzai and Principal Secretary to CM Muhammad Israr and other administrative secretaries attended. Pervez Khattak regretted that when his government engaged mega companies like NLC, the process of engagements was obstructed by the local contractors who moved the court and therefore the process of development was brought to standstill. The past experimentation proved that mega projects like Mufti Mahmood Flyover were not completed with the time tag. This led to the wastage of time and resources and considerably added to the hardships of the commoners, he added. Pervez Khatak reminded the audience of his government record legislations for bringing transparency to the public dealings and government performance under the definite aim to make the people realized that they are the real beneficiaries of all developmental and welfare activities. The Chief Minister opened his mind telling the participants that the process of legislations would continue till the total transparency in all public sector institutions and dealings. Chief Minister was categorical adding that his government would never compromise on the public welfare and their prosperity. He said that under the rapid bus transit, work on the main corridor and connecting arteries of the project was round the corner. The reputed firms and companies would be part of the all-time big project that will give one solution to all the traffic congestion in Peshawar city. He called upon the local contractors to enhance their capacity and induct experienced manpower to their firms. =========
