Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak has expressed satisfaction over the progress so far made to implement MoUs that were inked during Beijing Road show

Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak has expressed satisfaction over the progress so far made to implement MoUs that were inked during Beijing Road show in China last month. He expressed the confidence that present and coming generations of the entire region would harvest the fruits of trade and economic ties with the friendly neighboring country that was otherwise emerging as the economic super power of the world. He said that the government to government and business to business agreements of KP Government with China were being rightly named as KP China Investment Plan (KPCIP) that would be implemented in letter and spirit and with full confidence of both the friendly nations. He strictly directed the authorities to ensure each and every commitment and deadline with Chinese companies as well as let them honor it too so that the mutual confidence could not be harmed at any cost. Similarly he said all the departments had to foresee the problems and hurdles in respect of strategies, litigations and arrangements to resolve it in time. He further directed to arrange immediate contacts with the concerned high-ups in case of erupting such issues instead of waiting for the next meetings in order to solve the problems on the spot and for the good. He was chairing follow-up meeting of implementation on MoUs made during Beijing Road Show under Khyber Pakhtunkhwa China Investment Plan (KPCIP) at Chief Minister Secretariat Peshawar. The meeting was attended by Senior Minister LG Inayatullah, Minister Mineral Resources Anisa Zeb Tahirkheli, Advisor on Planning and Development Mian Khaliqur Rehman, Chief secretary, Administrative Secretary of concerned Department and Heads of the attached Department including EZDMC, PEDO, OGDCL, PkHA, PDA, Energy, Mineral Resources, Housing, Transport, Agriculture, Environment, Information Technology, communication and Local Government. Chief Minister expressed his pleasure to know that considerable progress has been made in realizing the agreements by the Provincial Government departments with Chinese companies. He was also satisfied to know that the Chinese companies heads and officials have started meetings and negotiations with provincial government authorities in respect of implementation process, deputing the staff for various projects and provision of required facilities on part of the KP government. He asked for evolving work plan as per nature of the concerned projects wherein interest of the province and locals must be taken into account. He directed to fix shares on some projects and BOT on others with the companies as per international criteria accordingly. He further asked to confirm the dates for the next meeting about construction works with the Frontier Works Organization (FWO). Similarly he directed to outsource the municipal services of WSSP and advertise it as soon as possible. He regretted that a lot of time was wasted on this issue and cautioned that no further delay would be tolerated in this regard. Pervez Khattak reaffirmed that only corporate bodies could deliver to the masses in the real sense and it was routine practice all over the world. He said the public sector organizations miserably failed in service delivery tasks and it was already proven by experiment. He asked the provincial government authorities to forthwith complete the process of appointing investment monitoring teams for implementing the MoUs as well as strengthening close liaison with Chinese counterparts. He further directed the CPEC Cell established in P&D Department to work as investment support unit in the implementation process on MoUs. <><><><><><><>
