CPNE delegation meet Pervez Khattak and delivers a cheque of Rs. 20 million to the Council as a grant

Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak welcomed the proposal of Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors for holding their seminar on CPEC in coming July at Peshawar and added his government was also planning to hold a seminar on the projects showcased in Beijing Road Show and where MOUs were signed with the multi national companies and foreign investors. Chief Minister said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province has become the most suitable area and the centre of investment as compared to the past due to investor friendly policies that is why investors from the whole world including China were taking keen interest to invest in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. We are planning different schemes for the welfare of the masses under CPEC. Our developmental strategy is all together different from Punjab. Our resources are not Peshawar-Centred rather the whole province would be equally the end beneficiaries, Chief Minister added. Apprising the delegation about the various aspects of Peshawar Rapid Bus project, Chief Minister said that 9 meter long airconditioned buses would ply on connecting routes while 12 meter long airconditioned buses would ply on the main corridor. There will be separate lane for pedestrians and bikes. Chief Minister said that this project was more cost effective as compared to Punjab Metro Service. Government will pay no subsidy. This project will permanently resolve the traffic problems and was highly beneficial as compare to other projects in the country. It has seven connecting routes integrating the whole vehicular traffic of Peshawar with additional features side by side with a number of commercial activities benefiting five lakh passengers. Moreover, it would generate five thousand employment opportunities. These remarks he made while talking to a representative delegation of Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors led by its Secretary General Ejazul Haq which called on him at Chief Minister House Peshawar. Advisor to CM on Information and Higher Education, Mushtaq Ghani, Secretary Inforamtion, Arshad Majeed and Director Inforamtion Syed Amir Hussain Shah were also present on the occasion. Chief Minister said that media played a vital role in the national construction and development. This is our country and it was our collective responsibility to work with devotion and sincerity for the progress and prosperity of our beloved homeland. Chief Minister clarified that overhauling of system and strengthening of institutions is our top most priority. Media should properly highlight the reforms agenda of his government. Media should visit and monitor the reforms agenda and compare it with the performance of past provincial government. Our system is transparent. We introduced openness. Responding to a question, Pervez Khattak said that drastic reforms had been initiated in the health sector. Doctors salaries have been increased from 45 thousand to 1,50,000/- lakh. Doctors availability ensured in all the districts. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is the only province where hospitals have been given complete autonomy. On this occasion, Chief Minister handed over a cheque of Rs. 20 million to the Secretary General of CPNE as a grant. ===========
