Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak has approved the special security force for the CPEC

Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak has approved the special security force for the CPEC and non CPEC projects including security cover to all the foreign investors in the province. The security cover would be extended to escort all the investors during the mobility, travelling and the destination etc. The special security force would comprise 4200 personnel including dedicated, temporary and need basis. He emphasized for close coordination with the security division of Pak Army in this regard. The Chief Minister directed to set up cells in the home, IGP office and DIGs in all regions of the province. He was presiding over a meeting finalizing arrangements for the establishment of a separate force for dedicated security cover to CPEC and non CPEC projects, the security of industrial zones and all the foreign investors in the province. Attended by Advisor to Chief Minister on P&D Mian Khaliqur Rahman, Chief Secretary Abid Saeed, Secretary Home Shakeel Qadir, IGP Salahuddin, Principal Secretary to CM Muhammad Israr, Secretary P&D Shahab Ali Shah, Secretary Finance Ali Raza Bhutta and others, the meeting debated the mode of security for permanent security, short term and long term arrangements and made a number of decisions in this regard. The Chief Minister formally approved the establishment of a security force for the CPEC and non CPEC projects and security to all the foreign investors landing in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for investment. He tasked the Secretary Home and IGP to sit together and finalize all the prerequisite required for the establishment of a security force. The Chief Minister also directed to firm up all the cost supported by cogent reasons and he assured to clear it within no time. He directed that the new force should be organized at the pattern of Rapid Response Force and the force should have a rapid response strategy. The new force would have a linkage with the regular police force and there should be a clear vision for the deployment of the force at all districts. The force would provide security to the investors, industrial zones of the province and need driven security throughout the province. The Chief Minister directed the IGP and Secretary Home to come up with the clear strategy for the raising, rationalization and filling the vacant posts and the relocation of different personnel for induction into the new force. The provincial government, he assured would provide resources for force multipliers and necessary equipments for the new force. The provincial government would give a sketch of the security paradigm in the incoming road-show in Beijing where the provincial government would market its different projects to the foreign investors, he concluded. =========
