Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak has directed the relevant quarters to finalize the agreements with the authorities of Frontier Works Organization (FWO) for the construction of three mega hydropower, cement and housing projects in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The agreements are likely to be inked by the coming Monday with proper timeline, he issued these directives while chairing a high level meeting here on Thursday. There should be no hurdles in the execution of public welfare projects he told the meeting. The Chief Minister directed the participants of the meeting to take all possible measures for starting construction works on the projects in time as the KP government would not tolerate any negligence and lethargy to this effect. Future of the KP is bright as the huge investment was being poured in the province with each passing day, he said adding, pace of industrialization has been geared up that would help create massive employment opportunities for the jobless in the province. The interests of the people must be kept in mind while preparing designs for the housing projects as people were the focal points of all the reforms and uplift projects of the government. There would be no compromise on the welfare, and rights of the people. The Chief Minister on this occasion also sought progress report on the Swat Motorway project. He was informed that construction work was underway at various points on Swat motorway whereas full construction work would start in the first week of April this year. The Chief Minister urged them to complete the project in the stipulated time. Earlier the meeting was briefed about three mega 520 Megawatt hydropower projects, construction of Cement Plant in Karak, and housing projects on GT Road and Motorway with the collaboration of the FWO. Senior Minister for Irrigation Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao, Minister for Education Atif Khan, administrative secretaries of the concerned departments, Col Jamal Salman Qaisrani, representatives of the Oil and Gas Company and PEDO attended the meeting. <><><><><><>
