Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak has approved 60.84 million budget for the Kaghan Development authority in its 5th Board of Governors meeting here at Chief Minister House Peshawar.
Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak has approved 60.84 million budget for the Kaghan Development authority in its 5th Board of Governors meeting here at Chief Minister House Peshawar. The meeting was attended by administrative secretaries, commissioner Hazara and others. The Chief Minister directed to rationalize the budgetary provision of the authority and replicate the Galyat Development design for the entire Kaghan valley. He directed for the transfer of all rest houses in Kaghan and Naran to the authority and the authority should develop them on lines to compete with the private sector hotels and open them for the tourists. He also directed against all encroachments in the area.
Pervez Khattak said that it was his commitment to replicate the Galyat Development design for the Kaghan, Naran, Kalam, Chitral and Swat and develop these areas on tourism lines. The finance department would provide necessary funding in this regard, he assured.
Chief Minister also directed to make “spot valley” part of the Galyat Development Authority, develop a parking on the available 42.18 kanal available land and make an agreement of public private partnership. He ordered for the cleanliness of Naran, construction of children park in Naran and removal of encroachment irrespective of the fact whether the encroachment was of federal government, provincial government or private etc. He also directed to plan the construction of GDA complex on the available 23 kanal of land in Naran. He also directed to declare Gheel Saif-ul-Maluk as a national park. He also agreed to provide additional resources for the beautification of Naran adding that this will stabilize the financial health of the authority. The Chief Minister stressed for streamlining the rules of business and regulations under the act of the authority in order to implement them in latter and spirit. The expert opinion, he added should also be sought. The Chief Minister further directed that the authority should have its own mechanism for the safety and security, clearance of roads and maintenance of the area, cleanliness and other allied facilities. He said that the police could only be used if the need arose. He further directed to plan orchards in the area. He also directed to make efforts on emergency basis for maximums facilities to the tourists for the coming season. He said his government has given a strong base for the tourism development of the area and that would overcome unemployment and add to the provincial economy.

Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak has reaffirmed his firm commitment to bring the polio to the zero level in the province adding that his government work has accrued for-reaching results in reducing the cases of polio. He appreciated the Rotary International in the efforts of eliminating polio from the province and stressed for coordinated efforts against this disease.
He was addressing the cell phones distribution ceremony to the Community Midwives here at the Chief Minister House Peshawar. Provincial Minister for Excise Mian Jamshed, Secretary Health Abid Majeed, representatives of MNCH, Rotary International and others.
The Chief Minister while appreciating the cell phones distribution to the community midwives by Rotary international said that they were at the forefront in the collective struggle against polio. His government set a new standard of service through health sector reforms that was unparallel in the history of the country, he added. He said he gave financial and administrative autonomy to tertiary healthcare in the province. This was resisted by a group of individuals but our government made it happen, he added. He said his government was keen to provide efficient healthcare to all and sundry. He said the provincial government was utilizing all its resources for the protection of its masses from epidemic diseases. An awareness drive has already been started and his government effort resulted into a sharp decline of polio cases in the province during the previous year. We would make Khyber Pakhtunkhwa polio free, he added. He appreciated the Rotary International for supporting his government efforts for Polio eradication. The Speakers representing the Rotary International reciprocated the same sentiment and appreciated the provincial government for its reforms in health sector. Later the Chief Minister gave away cell phones to the Community Midwives.
