Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak has directed to float tenders for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of internal city roads in Peshawar and pavement of streets that will cost Rs.2.2 billion.

Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak has directed to float tenders for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of internal city roads in Peshawar and pavement of streets that will cost Rs.2.2 billion. He also directed to plan practical work on the preliminary design of Peshawar Rapid Bus Transit Project. The practical work should be time tagged, he added. He was presiding over a high level meeting at Chief Minister Secretariat Peshawar which was attended by Chief Secretary Abid Saeed, administrative secretaries, DG PDA and others. The Chief Minister directed to plan commercial activities at the plots of all addas after shifting them to the main terminal at Chamkani. The existing land of the bus addas would be allocated to the CPEC IT Tower adding that commercial activities would be planed in collaboration with domestic and foreign investors at the land of the different Bus Addas after their shifting to the main Chamkani terminal. He also directed to plan projects in hydel power, culture, industries, mineral, IT and others for onward presentation at the JCC meeting. He also directed to float tenders for Zakori-II and Warsak road flyovers. The Chief Minister directed to float tender for Rapid Bus Transit Project in the first week of May adding that the project should be on ground by 30th May at all cost. He also directed that the construction phase should not go beyond eight months. The Rapid Bus Transit has three packages, the first from Chamkani to Qilla Bala Hisar, 2nd towards Aman Chowk and the 3rd towards Hayatabad, he added. Pervez Khattak also directed to include the commercial activities and projects of Peshawar in the working groups adding that the commercial activities after the shifting of all Bus addas to the main terminal at Chamkani would generate a lot of resources. He also directed to replicate the guidelines already prepared for the previous MoUs because the Chinese were expected in Peshawar in the next week. He said the next few months were very important for the province as the government would make decisions for the future of the province. His government has already put the province towards rapid growth, he added. He said his government wanted to provide a base for the cottage industry and at the same time it wanted to facilitate the expected investment for the medium and large scale industrialization that he attributed to the marked improvement in law & order situation and the pro investment policy of his government adding that the domestic and foreign investors were flooding to the province for investment. His government has already planed the development and prosperity of this province and now it was time to translate its vision into reality that will overcome unemployment and lead to overall development and prosperity of the province. The Chief Minister also directed for accelerated work on Dera, Haripur and other bypasses throughout the province and flyovers at Kohat, Mardan etc. He said that new schemes of the province would become part of the CPEC. <><><><><>
