Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak has approved the unfreezing of 30% personal secretariat allowance of secretariat employees with immediate effect.
Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak has approved the unfreezing of 30% personal secretariat allowance of secretariat employees with immediate effect. This decision was taken in a meeting of the provincial cabinet held at Civil Secretariat on Monday morning under the chairmanship of Chief Minister. Besides provincial Ministers, Advisors and Special Assistants to CM, Chief Secretary and administrative secretaries of the provincial departments attended.
The cabinet was briefed by Census Commissioner about the forthcoming national census. The Census Commissioner informed that census will be started from March 15 this year. He further told the meeting that the country was divided into 168120, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 22000 and FATA 3793 blocks for the proposed census while result of the provincial census will be disclosed in 60 days, he added.
The Chief Minister recommended to share result of the census with the provincial governments to take them into confidence about the process of census. He also directed to write a letter to prime Minister in this regard.
The Chief Minister also ordered to link promotion of the teachers with their performance. Similarly he also directed for initiating legislation for making mechanism for transfer and posting of the school teachers. The Chief Minister also directed for provision of list of the closed schools in the province. Likewise, the Chief Minister stressed the need of making teaching of the English language at primary level in public sector schools more effective to make kids of the poor people capable to compete with the children of the rich people. He said that by this way real change would be brought in the province.
The Chief Minister also directed for provision of completed and under completion school buildings in the province. The cabinet also agreed with the proposal of enhancement of 16% in the annual budget of education sector. Similarly, the cabinet also okayed not to cut the budget of the education sector. The meeting further decided appointment of female teachers at primary schools of the province. The promotion of the teaching of the holy Quran in government schools was also approved. According to detail Nazra Quran would be taught at primary level while teaching of the translation of the Holy Quran will be imparted from class 6th to Class 12th. Similarly the Cabinet also approved Khyber Pakhtunkhwa free education for primary, Secondary and elementary Bill 2017. Likewise, amendments in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Forest Development Fund, Rules 2006 and walnut policy form/ private land were also approved by the cabinet.
The Chief Minister on this occasion directed high ups of the forest department to keep aware elected MPAs about the progress of Tsunami project. Similarly the Chief Minister directed for expediting the sale of windfall timber wood in the province. Moreover, a committee was constituted for commercialization of vacant land at industrial Estate Hayatabad during the meeting of the cabinet.
