Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Caretaker Chief Minister Justice (R) Dost Muhammad Khan said his caretaker setup was going all out for the transparent, peaceful and free elections in the province. His government could not ignore giving relief to the people of newly merged districts and creating maximum opportunities of employment for them. He directed to plan introduction of new technologies in the local industries of the merged area including training institutions for the local labourers of the merged districts. He directed to indentify plots for the chamber of small traders in the industrial states. He assured to provide maximum relief to the trading community, however he said that promoting tax culture is also indispensible for the uplift of the economy. He said that there are certain rights and duties between the state and its citizens to mutually build a prosperous society. He was addressing to a delegation of Mohmand Chamber of Commerce and Peshawar Chamber of Commerce and Industries in CM Secretariat Peshawar. Caretaker provincial Minister for Industries Sanaullah, Caretaker Provincial Minister Energy and Power Fazal illahi, Chief Executive EZDMC, Administrative secretaries of the relevant department and other high level officers attended the meeting. The Caretaker Chief Minister said that the people of newly merged districts have gone through many difficulties. Therefore he is trying his level best to provide them maximum relief and in this connection he has talked to the federal government as well. The delegation agreed with the suggestions of the Chief Minister and said that in the current situation they are not in a position to pay taxes, but once the situation gets well, they will be ready to pay tax. The delegation demanded special economic zones in the merged districts. The Chief Minister directed to select a reasonable site and hinted that he will give a guideline to the coming elected government for the establishment of an economic zone. The CM reminded that he had already directed for the establishment of a University and four professional colleges at each two districts. Dost Muhammad Khan asked for written suggestions from Peshawar Chamber of Commerce for the relief in the tax. However he added that we have to improve tax collection in the province.
